Condition Report
One of the swan-and-lyre mounts on the marble bases looks to be of the period, but it might have been re-attached later; there is some faintly visible residue around it on the marble where possibly glue was used (not recently). No apparent signatures or marks when the waist mounts and arms are removed. The attribution to Gérard-Jean Galle came from the museum's object notes. Good condition overall; attractive gilding with areas of hand burnishing. The marble bases on the lowest stepped portion have some hairline cracks and chips visible from the bottom; they probably have older minor repairs, but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance.
